The Problem With Politics

The problem with politics and national discussion about them, particularly in an election year, is that real discussion gets lost.  Everyone focuses on a few talking points on each side instead of looking at the whole system that is corrupt.  It’s all designed to keep our eye off the ball…the ball being WHOLE SYSTEM, not just Democrats or Republicans.

Isn’t it time we demanded change?  We are not powerless, although we are groomed to believe the best we can do is vote for one and hope it’s right. It’s not one Candidate, or one Congress, or one President; it’s the system. A system that allows laws and loopholes and a judicial system that are not good for the People, but are very good for the billionaires and multi-national corporations who really control everything.  So while we are kept busy arguing Trump over Bernie over Hillary, the controlling powers are not losing any sleep over who is elected next.  It doesn’t matter to them.

But what if we demand REAL change, the right of every citizen to Freedom of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness?  What if we refuse to play their game anymore. It’s called civil disobedience but it reallyis just saying NO!

That’s what the people in the town of Fairview do in Billionaires and Bagmen.  They decide, as a town, that they will set up their own rules and govern themselves.  It isn’t easy because the powers that be go to great lengths to stop them.  It is a very real blueprint for change, as well as a terrific read and one of the best nonfiction novels you’ll ever read.
